Milestone

Jeremiah rolled over for the first time today! He's been so close for days. He went from his tummy to back. When he got to his back we were so excited and surprised! We clapped and cheered for him. At first Jeremiah was proud and smiling. I think he got a little freaked out realizing that he did it by himself and us being loud. He's only done it the one time, but still very exciting. Matt and I were both there when it happened, which was fun. A good thing from the layoff, Matt's gotten to see a lot of Jeremiah's firsts. :-)

The shoulder tap

See this sweet boy? Can you believe that he would not stop screaming for the nursery workers, AGAIN!

I was sitting in church really enjoying the sermon when I feel a tap on my shoulder. Amanda, a friend who was working in the nursery, told me they needed me. I get the beeper from Matt and see that it wasn't turned on, oops! As soon as I am out of the sanctuary I hear him screaming. Not sure what set him off this week. They said he was acting like his tummy hurt. Only thing I can think is that I had OJ with breakfast and it upset his tummy.

I'm trying to figure out what I can do to help Jeremiah have a better time in the nursery. Again, I'm just so thankful for the workers. I'm in the nursery next week so I'll get a chance to love on the babies. Plus, that means they won't have to come get us!

The Beeper

Our church nursery gives out beepers, in case they need help with the baby. We've been leaving Jeremiah in the nursery during the worship service for several weeks now. Today we decided to leave him there during Sunday school. He has gotten to vocal to be in our class.

Matt and I were sitting in Sunday school, with the beeper right in front of us when a feel a tap on my shoulder. It was Amber, the church's children ministry coordinator. She whispers "we need you in the nursery". Not gonna lie, I started panicking a little. Amber said that Jeremiah was inconsolable. I was half way the the nursery when I hear Jeremiah screaming.

I walk in and over the screams I hear that Jeremiah had been playing in an exersaucer and started fussing. They got him out and he was covered in poop (guess that's what happens when a little boy doesn't poop for a few days). They had to wipe him down, hair and below, gross!!! While they were wiping him down a fan started blowing right on him. By this point he's mad that he had poop all over himself and cold. Not sure when I came in during this mess.

I tried to feed him, but he would have nothing to do with that! I ended up having to walk him around outside before he finally calmed down. After that he ate and settled down and I was able to go worship. Thankfully, the beeper didn't go off and there were no taps on the shoulder.

The whole time the women in the nursery were trying to love on Jeremiah and make him feel better. Made me very thankful for those who work with the kids in churches. What a blessing they are!

Playtime

Jeremiah has been starting to sit his Bumboo. He loves being able to sit up and look around. His Bumboo has a try with a toy you can attach. He will sit there and look at it and try to eat it for a long time! He's getting to be a big boy!

Getting the toy

Probably trying to figure out how to get it in his mouth

Rough night?

A few weeks ago Jeremiah started sleeping in his nursery. Very exciting, but kind of sad at the same time. Jeremiah loves to be swaddled to sleep. He sleeps so much when he's swaddled. My mom got us a Miracle Blanket, it really is a baby straight jacket! But Jeremiah LOVES it! There was one afternoon he was exhausted, as soon as I started to swaddle him he start to calm down.

Here he is, all snuggy and sleeping really well. He sleeps on a pillow because he has reflux issues and it helps.

This is how we find him every morning! Not sure what he does to move down the bed or how he gets that leg out! There have been a few morning where he's some how gotten his arms out too! That's impressive because the Miracle blanket has flaps that hold the baby's arms down. You took the flaps under the baby's back! I have no idea how Jeremiah is able to pull the flaps out! He's a strong boy, I guess.
