Busy Day!

Sundays are always the busiest day of the week. We have church in the morning and don't get home till 1 at the earliest. On top of that we went to Melinda's (Matt's aunt) pool. We've been debating on when to take Jeremiah swimming. Today was the day! He wasn't sure what to think at first but warmed up to it. It started getting overcast and windy so we didn't stay in too long. He has fun and took a good nap! Can't beat that!

This was right before we got out. As you can tell, he was done.

Having fun with Daddy

All three of us, right after this Cory (Matt's cousin) fell into the pool!

Trying to decide what he thinks

Swimming with Momma
We also tried out his Bumbo for the first time. He's been starting to hold his head up on his own and loves being able to look around. He loved the Bumbo! Especially getting to see Tonks.

They're such buddies

Look who loves the Bumbo! Look at his right hand. It's almost touch the ottoman! He's got his momma's monkey arms!

Band Aids

Today was Jeremiah's two month appointment. I was excited to see how much he had grown but was not looking forward to the shots. Matt and I decided to start his shots once he was a little older, so these were the first shots ever!

Jeremiah is doing great! He now weighs 12lb 11oz and is 23.75in. What a big boy! He's gained almost 5lbs and grown 3 inches. He was so sweet during the appointment, cooing at the doctor. He was doing great until it was time for the shots. The nurse came in and had a vaccine that he had to drink and then three shots. The drink was first. Jeremiah didn't seem to mind it too much. Towards the end he started coughing, but no crying.
Next was the shots. Matt was at the appointment, he had to be the bad guy and hold Jeremiah during the shots. He had to hold Jeremiah's hands above his head whiles the nurse gave Jeremiah his shots. Sounds mean, huh? Jeremiah started to fuss when Matt held down his hands. It went downhill pretty quickly after that. He was full on crying and red-face-screaming by the third shot. But who can blame him?
Even though we let the nurse give Jeremiah the shots, he let us comfort and love on him. By the time we were setting up his next appointment he was completely calm. He's spent most of the afternoon and evening sleeping and wanting to be cuddled. We've been happy to comply!

See the band aids??? First time he needed band aids. There was blood on them! So sad!

Thankful

About a week and a half ago the AC went out in our car. Our black car with black interior. Not a good thing to happen in June in GA. Matt and I were trying to decide what to do, and REALLY didn't want to pay an arm and a leg to get it fixed. One of our friends from church does work on cars. We gave Adam a call and he looked at it last week.

He told us he thought it would be an easy fix. To be sure he connected one of his friends with Matt. Sure enough, all was needed was a $15 part! Matt and I were thrilled! I started getting nervous when Adam told us the whole dash would have to come off.

After church we went to the Adam and Jessica's house so that the boys could work on the car. We got to share lunch (something I love doing. What better way to get to know people?). The boys got the car fixed in less time then they expected. Always exciting when things go better than you expect!

While the boys were working Jessica and I were able to talk, which I throughly enjoyed. It was a wonderful afternoon of fellowship! We're so thankful for Adam, Jessica, their girls and their friendship. We wouldn't have been able to get the car fix this easily and inexpensively.

Super Baby Strikes Again...

The past two night Jeremiah slept through the night! Monday night he woke up at 5am and was ready to eat and then play. Last night he nursed at 10. He started to wake up a little before 6 this morning. I gave him his pacie and he slept till 7! I was thrilled! On top of that, he's still taking naps!

I have the best baby ever!

Super Baby

I know that everyone thinks their baby is the cutest, sweetest and best baby ever. But I REALLY believe Jeremiah is a super baby.

There are several reason I say that. He's a good eater, even when he was still in the hospital. Only once since we've been home has he wanted to eat eat more than twice at night. Last night is was once at 1:45. Not bad! He loves being held and talked to, but he also likes playing alone. After a really busy day like Sundays he wants to play by himself for a while. He got used to a new routine in less than a week. Here's the kicker, he just figured out how to put himself back to sleep!

I was starting to get nervous that he wouldn't be able to put himself to sleep. I have been very quick to go to him when he starts crying. Over the past week I've been trying to let him cry for a little bit before I would go get him. I was so worried that eventually I would have to sit and listen to him crying for like 30 minutes before he would give up and go to sleep. Today he put himself back to sleep twice!

The first time he started to fuss half-hearted. After I few minutes I looked in on him. He's eyes were closed, he let out once last whimper and was sounds a sleep after that. The second time was as I was getting out of the shower. He started to fuss a little. By the time I finished getting dressed and drying my hair he was back a sleep!

All of that and he's just seven weeks old! Like I said, super baby!

Talking

Aunt Shannon

Shannon came to Georgia last weekend. It was the first time she got to meet Jeremiah. He loved snuggling with his Aunt Shannon! Can't wait till she visits again in July.

Sweet Moment

Jeremiah still sleeps in our room. This morning I heard him starting to wake up, he was content so I just let him be. Once he started fussing I went to get him up. I called his name and he turned and looked right at me and gave me the sweetest smile! It was like he was saying good morning Mommy! It was just so precious. I love moments like that.
