Lately I have not been wanting to cook... at all. When dinner time comes around I open the freezer and pantry and hope there's something in there that requires little of me. Thankfully there has been, but it's not going to stay that way much longer.
I've been asking myself what I'm going to do. Today I went to momeysavingmom and she had a blog about having a freezer cooking day. Sounds perfect! At first glance, that is. Once I started really looking into it. The shopping, the prep work and trying to figure out what I would do with Jeremiah during this day. Seemed impossible!
I think I might give it a try with a few simple recipes and muffins (Jeremiah's new favorite breakfast). That seems much more doable than doing all my cooking for the whole month! Who knows, maybe one day I'll work up to it.

Lunch time
I love to watch Jeremiah eat. The little smacking noise he makes while he's chewing. How he points to his cup when he needs a drink. The way he holds up food for me to eat and then gets the biggest grin when I do eat it. I even love how it gets all over his hands and face. The whole things is just the cutest thing!

And so it begins
We got to a small group with other families from our church once a week. There are five kids, Jeremiah is the only little boy. He loves getting to play with with other kids.
Last week Ashley was changing her littler girl Lydia. Lydia is six months younger than Jeremiah. Ashley was talking to Lydia and said, "Look at this naked girl!" Jeremiah whipped around, grunted and takes off crawling to Lydia! As I grabbed his leg and pulled him back toward me, he looked at me like, "Mom! I wanted to see!" I couldn't believe it! Oh the joys of having a little boy.

Late
So I'm three days late on Jeremiah's 11 month post. He's doing awesome!
He started pulling up, mainly in his crib. He's discovered he can pull up on the entertainment center. Just because he was to push the buttons on the DVD player. He can just about pull up on the couch, but has a hard time grabbing onto the edge.
He's sleeping awesome at night! Got a little thrown off with the time change, not too bad though. He typically goes down around 7:30 and gets up between 7:00 and 7:30. Wish he would sleep a little later. Can't complain since he's sleeping through the night.
This week he's acting like he wants to drop his morning nap. That's been interesting to say the least. Yesterday morning he was exhausted but wouldn't let himself sleep. That is until he was eating lunch! He couldn't keep his eye open. He would take a bit with his eyes half open. By the time he was swallowing they were completely closed. Poor boy!
At the beginning of February Jeremiah weighed just over 20 pounds. So I'm guessing he's around 23 pounds. He mainly wears size 12 months and size two shoes. I just started putting him in size 18 months and they fit him pretty well. A little big, but nothing that a month or so won't fix.
He's getting to the stage where he doesn't want to be snuggled a who lot. He would much rather be crawling (still the Army crawl) or playing. Except at night. Once that boy gets sleep he loves to be snuggled and read to. Matt and I are more than happy to comply with that!
Eating is still a little bit of an issue. He has decided there is no need to eat veggies. Matt and I are trying to figure if we should just let it go or make a battle of it. Right now we're letting it go since he's still so young. It's hard trying to figure those thing out! We don't want to start bad habits but we want to remember what's applicable to his age.
This boy is a talker! He just jabbers and points at everything. He's starting to make a lot of connections. You ask him "where's daddy" is and he'll point at Matt. He does that with drinks, dogs, and the fan. You know, the important things in life. :-)

Can't believe it!
Remember the post about the Easter shirt give away? Well... I won! I couldn't believe it! I'm not the person who usually wins stuff. I was floored when Kierstyn told me. I had so much fun picking out the shirt and fabric. Jeremiah will look so handsome, as always. Don't worry, as soon as I get the shirt there will be lots of pictures!

The Parent's Curse
You know what I'm talking about, right? The statement most of us have heard at least once in our life, "I hope you have a child just like you!" Some times said teasing, other times quite seriously. I see this curse coming to fruition in my life.
A little background, growing up I was a very picky eater. Pretty much all I wanted to eat was meat, fruit, bread and sweets, of course! I remember refusing to eat eggs and sitting at the table well past the time my sisters finished eating. I'm a little embarrassed to admit I was one of those kids who would, cry, cough, gag, and almost throw up if we were having something I didn't want to eat.
I'm seeing Jeremiah starting to do this. When he was on baby food he would eat anything! Of course he had preferences but would eat whatever I gave him. He's now eating finger foods and feeding himself. The boy loves fruit, cheese, meat, and bread. Veggies are another story. I'll put them on the trey and he'll avoid them and act like he's out of food once he's eaten everything he likes. When I try to pop a green bean in his mouth, he turns away and starts shaking his little head! When I keep trying to get him to eat some veggies he has started to make himself cough. He even made himself gag once! I couldn't believe it! 10 months and already putting up a fight.
Looks like I'm going to get to experience what I put my parents through. So to all you other parents, beware if you parents ever said "I hope you have a child just like you!" It really does happen!
